The Azealia Banks and Russell Crowe Plot Thickens With RZA’s Account Of The Evening

The Azealia Banks and Russell Crowe Plot Thickens With RZA's Account Of The Evening

The hip hop legend RZA weighs in on the stories that came about after the now infamous night where Azealia Banks joined RZA and Russell Crowe and Crowe’s Beverly Hills Hotel suite.

“I heard the rumors of her problems in the industry but disregarded them with the rationality everyone is innocent until proven guilty,” RZA wrote. “So my producer and I fought for her to be in [the upcoming RZA film Coco] and we succeeded. During the filming process things ran smooth and she delivered. Thus my only experience with her had been professional.”

Enter the now-infamous Beverly Hills Hotel party. RZA says that despite Banks’s claims, Crowe never used any racial slurs against her and confirmed that her behavior was indeed belligerent and erratic.

Before the night is over Azealia is insulting half the room she becomes loud and obnoxious.

There was nothing funny about her behavior. I felt a little embarrassed because she was my guest.

Still verbal abuse can be tolerated but when it goes physical…

Azealia threaten to cut a girl in the face with a glass, then actually grabs a glass and physically attacks for no logical reason.

Russell blocked the attack and expelled her from the suite.

Seeing is believing and I saw her behave as an obnoxious erratic individual and in the circles I frequent this was unprecedented. I was totally puzzles by her and thought maybe meds or booze or something had her zoned out.

Nevertheless I made sure she got home safe.

Well, not one to be outdone, Azealia took to her Facebook page to address RZA’s recent story of his account of that night.

RZA has clearly been given no legal advice and went to straight to TMz out of his feelings to try and gaslight me. Whatever pieces are left of his brain after years and years of smoking dust stupidly allowed him to ramble himself into incriminating his friend, and completely debunking their entire made up theory.

You mean to tell me, that a 300lb man needed to use ALL OF THAT FORCE, to remove an “erratic” guest from a party ?

My uber records/hotel surveillance shows me arriving to the party at 9:45pm, the incident occurred around 2:45am, i were supposedly erratic, how did I possibly end up spending THAT MUCH time at your party.

If I were this supposed party monster, how the FUCK did ruselll find time to tweet a link to my song?

So here we are again, back at square one with the stories, except the one that seems logical and the one that does not. By the way, does Russell Crowe weigh 300lbs. because what the hell is that about lol? Gladiator did not seem that big to us! Sound off on who’s side you’ve got and why in the comments below.

Bobby Shmurda Receives 7 Year Sentence And Makes Courtroom Outburst

Shmurda’s sentence officially handed down in Manhattan court as reported by HotNewHipHop.

Bobby Shmurda sat in a Manhattan courthouse Wednesday morning and received a seven-year sentence in prison. At one point, he faced 25-to-life after being arrested in December 2014 for conspiracy to commit murder, reckless endangerment, and drug and gun possession.

Last month, he accepted a plea deal that lengthened his sentence from five to seven years and reduced Rowdy Rebel’s sentence from 12 to seven. But according to NY Daily News, Shmurda told Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Abraham Clot that his lawyers forced him to take the plea against his will. “I was forced to take this plea. I do not want to take this plea,” he said.

“I want to drop my plea and fire you,” he told his lawyer.

Shmurda has already served two years of his sentence and could be released as early as in three and a half years.

Derrick Rose and 2 Childhood Friends Cleared Of Sexual Assault In Civil Suit

Derrick Rose and 2 Childhood Friends Cleared Of Sexual Assault In Civil Suit

ESPN reports an eight-member jury in Los Angeles federal court has found New York Knicks point guard Derrick Rose and his two friends not liable in a civil lawsuit that accused them of gang-raping Rose’s ex-girlfriend when she was incapacitated from drugs or alcohol.

The jury began deliberations Wednesday morning, and its decision was announced at about 4:30 p.m. ET.

“I am thankful that the jury understood and agreed with me,” Rose said in a statement to The Associated Press. “This experience and my sensitivity to it was deep. I am ready to put this behind me and focus on my family and career.”

Jurors posed for photographs with Rose one at a time in the courthouse lobby after the verdict was announced.

One of the two men among the eight jurors who identified himself only by his first name and age, Jared, 25, said the panel tried to look at the case in the plaintiff’s favor but in the end could not believe her and felt her tears were not genuine.

“It felt like she was playing us,” Jared said. “The second her lawyer started questioning her, she would start crying. I mean, granted, that could be realistic, but I feel l’m pretty good at reading people, and I felt as if it was false.”

Before he ended the proceedings, U.S. District Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald wished all parties the best, but added for Rose, “Except when the Knicks play the Lakers.”

Rose’s ex-girlfriend said he and his two friends raped her in August 2013 at her Los Angeles apartment after she passed out from drugs or alcohol.

Neither side denied the three men had sex with the woman, but the issue was whether she consented or was too intoxicated to do so.

Defense lawyers painted the woman as a liar who tried to sway jurors through her tears to get at Rose’s fortune. They claimed she was angry that he had dumped her and that she set him up and brought the lawsuit in hopes of a big payoff.

The woman’s lawyer called the men “sexual deviants” and said they conspired to rape her after she was drunk and incapable of consenting to sex.

Rose was in court, looking down, as the verdict was read. As soon as the first question was answered by the jury, his attorney got up and shook the hand of each of the three defendants.

“All three men were innocent from Day 1,” Rose’s attorney, Mark Baute, said. “We’re very happy that the system worked.”

The woman’s attorney, Waukeen McCoy, said he will explore appeal options.

“I think it’s a shame for women, for this country, that a celebrity can come into court and slut-shame a woman like my client,” McCoy said.

Though the accuser’s reaction could not be seen as the verdict was read, McCoy said she was devastated and did not understand how jurors could reach their conclusion.

The woman, who became emotional and trembled while testifying, had sought $21.5 million when she filed the suit, but her attorney did not put a price on the case on Tuesday during closing arguments, saying it was up to the jury.

Rose’s lawyer said the future of the Knicks point guard and his whole family was at stake because of a morals clause in his player contract and an endorsement deal with Adidas.

Baute urged jurors to recognize the suit as a “hoax and a joke” and not even award $20 because that could destroy Rose’s career and trigger financial ruin for the star and the extended family and friends he had pulled out of poverty from Chicago’s South Side with his talent on the court.

Adidas, in a statement issued shortly after the verdict was announced, said: “Our partnership with Derrick remains unchanged.”

Lawyers in the civil case sparred for nearly three hours during the bitter closing arguments on Tuesday. The woman’s lawyer said the 30-year-old college student was not a gold digger and was seeking accountability for what was morally and legally wrong. He said the men had never apologized or shown any remorse and said their behavior was reprehensible enough to trigger punitive damages beyond any compensation.

“The three men laughed their way home,” McCoy said.

The defense portrayed Rose and his childhood pals, Ryan Allen and Randall Hampton, who both work for Rose, as victims in the case, and the lawyers mocked the woman’s lies and demeanor on the witness stand.

“This woman has tried to trick people through much of her life, men especially,” attorney Michael Monico said. “Who is she trying to trick in this courtroom, ladies and gentlemen? You. She doesn’t have any evidence, but she can cry.”

Rose took the stand on Tuesday and answered one question about a text message from the accuser with one word: “Yes.”

The juror named Jared said the panel of six women and two men had found the three defendants genuine and honest. Jared and the jury forewoman, who wouldn’t give her name, said they went through each piece of evidence provided to support the woman’s case and found nothing added up.

“I don’t want to call her a liar,” the forewoman said. “I just didn’t feel like there was enough evidence.”

Last summer, the woman also filed a police report along with the civil lawsuit against Rose. The Los Angeles Police Department said it continues to investigate a complaint filed against Rose but said there is no timetable on if or when the criminal case will be closed.

Rose is in his first season with the Knicks after being traded by the Chicago Bulls. He has missed five preseason games and seven practices while attending the civil trial, and earlier on Wednesday, Knicks coach Jeff Hornacek said he didn’t expect the former league MVP to rejoin the team until Friday.

Rose is expected to have three full practices with his teammates before the Knicks’ season opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday.

“It’s a tough thing he went through, but now it’s over and now we can focus on basketball; I know that’s what Derek wants to get back to doing,” Hornacek said. “We’re just all glad it’s done with, and now he can get back and focus on basketball.”

Jay Z Notches Another Win In Production Deal With TWC

Jay-z Notches Another Win In Product Deal With TWC

Jay Z never lied when he rapped that he is a “business…man”. Jigga is snatching up deals left and right all while letting it be known that “nothing real can be threatened.”

As Jet reported, The entertainment mogul’s media empire just added another “win” to the scoreboard. Jay, who has also partnered with Will Smith to produce a miniseries on Emmett Till for HBO, has just signed a two-year production deal with The Weinstein Company (TWC). The partnership will enable TWC to get an exclusive first-look at film and television projects produced by Jay Z.

Tapping into the film arena isn’t a new move for Jay. He served as a producer on the modern remake of Annie starring Jamie Foxx and Quvenzhané Wallis, co-produced Chris Rock’s Top Five, adding to that, he landed an executive producer tag on The Great Gasby with Leonardo DiCaprio.

Jay and Will also collaborated as co-producers on the stage production of Fela!.

As for his latest deal, Jay expressed, “I’m excited to tell stories from real life prophets, whom through their struggles have changed the world for the better, and others whose stories are filled with fantasy and delight. Harvey and David are visionaries both of whom have done this time and time again. I’m already passionate about what we currently have in the pipeline and I’m looking forward to discovering others.”

Deliberations Begin In Derrick Rose Sexual Assault Civil Trial

As reported from ESPN

A Los Angeles federal court jury will begin deliberations on Wednesday in the Derrick Rose sexual assault civil trial after attorneys for both sides gave their closing arguments Tuesday.
Rose and two of his friends are being sued for $21 million, accused of raping an ex-girlfriend while she was intoxicated in August 2013. Consent is the main issue for the all-white jury of six women and two men; the defendants, all friends since their adolescence in Chicago, have denied the allegations and said the woman willingly participated in sex and even initiated acts earlier in the night.

The woman’s lawyer, Waukeen McCoy, has told the jury his client is not a gold digger. He said in his closing argument Tuesday that the woman is just seeking accountability, and he did not ask for a specific amount of money. McCoy called Rose and the other defendants sexual deviants and said they laughed on their way home afterward.

Meanwhile, lawyers for Rose and his two friends say the woman accusing them of rape is a liar trying to trick jurors with her tears. The attorneys said in closing arguments that Rose’s ex-girlfriend faked the allegations to extort money from the New York Knicks star

An eight-person jury will begin deliberations Wednesday in the Derrick Rose sexual assault civil trial. ESPN
The defense maintains the woman was angry Rose dumped her after she willingly engaged in sex with him and his childhood friends on Aug. 27, 2013.

Attorney Michael Monico said the woman had no evidence of rape, so she lied that she was too drunk to remember anything and tried to sway jurors with tears instead of evidence.

The woman’s lawyer said the defense was “slut shaming” her by lying about her behavior that night. Her attorney said she was unconscious and couldn’t consent to sex.

Rose took the stand Tuesday and answered one question about a text message from the accuser with one word: “Yes.”

Earlier Tuesday, Knicks coach Jeff Hornacek told reporters that Rose is likely to start in the team’s regular-season opener on Tuesday as long as he returns to New York in time to practice this weekend.

“We’ll have to see how he is, but I would anticipate yes, he probably would,” Hornacek said after practice. “If we had no practices or one practice and then we had to play the game, then maybe it would be a different story. But we have three days to practice, he was there at training camp, so he has seen our stuff.

“I would probably say at this point, if he’s there at all our practices, I probably would start him.”

ESPN’s Shelley Smith and Ian Begley and The Associated Press contributed to this report. So, what does everyone think about this case so far? Do you feel like Derrick Rose is being treated unfairly and targeted? Or do you feel like the accuser has a valid and legitimate case?

Shawty Lo Body Reeked of Alcohol And Had Pills On Him

Shawty Lo‘s autopsy report reveals Shawty suffered the blunt force injuries to the head when he was ejected from his vehicle in a car crash last month. The Fulton County Medical Examiner also found a prescription bottle on him labeled “Promethazine” … which was actually filled with Percocet and Vicodin.

The medical examiner goes on to say Shawty’s body bag emitted a strong smell of alcohol when opened … but the official toxicology results are not in yet.

Here’s another doozy … the medical examiner says 2 females were in the car with Shawty at the time of the crash, and asked cops on scene if they could take a bunch of cash out of his pockets. The cops allegedly let ’em do it … leaving behind around $16.

So there’s definitely a lot of irregularities that occurred with the scene that are still being reviewed. It’s a waiting game now for what the count coroners office will come back with after their lab tests are in.
